Today on my sermon series, I am going to show you the errors of the Concordant Literal New Testament Bible and how it originated In another post after I clear the problem verses with the Greek "aion", I am going to give a reply to the author of saviorofall (Tony) who is attacking Don Hewey of the 1John57 website and Matt Slick, founder of CARM (Christian Apologetics Research Ministry)
Changes and removals in the original scriptures by comparing the King James Version and the Concordant Literal New Testament:
John 10:18 change "power" to "right"
This verse in the CLNT blatantly contradicts the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah and promoting the theory of "Reincarnation" as if God can reincarnate Jesus until He gets it right. Also, blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ as The Son and the Father are one ("I and my Father are one" - John 10:30).
Romans 14:10 change "seat" to "dais"
Blatantly attacks the authority of God. The Greek word "bema" incorrectly translates to "dais", the correct Greek word for "dais" is "exedra". The Greek word "exedra" is nowhere found in this verse.
2 Corinthians 5:10 (same as Romans 14:10) change "seat" to "dais"
Blatantly attacks the deity and authority of Jesus Christ. Same as Romans 14:10, "exedra" is not found in this verse.
Mathew 1:25 omit "her firstborn"
Blatantly contradicts the prophecies of Messiah. The CLNT denies that Jesus was born of a virgin.
Matthew 5:22 omit "without a cause"
Revelation 1:7 change "pierced" to "stab"
Mark 14:21 capitalize the letter "h" in "him"
Blatantly contradicts the prophecies of the Messiah. The CLNT implies that it would be better if the Lord Jesus Christ was not born. This is the Spirit of Antichrist. the "h" in "him' was referring to Judas, not Jesus.
Blatantly contradicts prophecies of the Messiah.
Acts 5:30 change "tree" to "pole"
The Greek "xulon" incorrectly translates to "pole", the correct Greek is "stauros". "Stauros" is nowhere found in this verse.
Acts 10:39 change "tree" to "pole"
Same as Acts 5:30, "stauros" is nowhere found in this verse.
Galatians 3:13 change "tree" to "pole"
Same as Acts 5:30 and 10:39, "stauros" is nowhere found in this verse. Also in 1 Peter 2:24.
1 Corinthians 15:24 change "when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father" to "whenever He may be giving up His Kingdom to His God and Father"
Blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. Contradicts John 10:30.
Revelation 21:6 change "am" to "have become"
Blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. Jesus is always the "Alpha and Omega". The Greek "ginomai" is nowhere found in this verse. Contradicts Revelation 1:8, 1:17, 2:8, and 22:13.
Revelation 2:13 change "seat" to "throne"
Only kings have thrones. Satan is not a king.
John 5:18 change "broken" to "annulled", omit "that"
Blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. Contradicts John 10:30
John 3:36 change "believeth" to "stubborn"
The CLNT in this verse grants everyone a license to sin by removing the requirement on how to be saved (see Mark 16:16). Contradicts Acts 16:31.
Luke 4:3 lowercase the letter "s" in "Son"
Blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 4:3 add "cakes of"
"Cakes of" is nowhere found in the original greek. The verse in the CLNT about Jesus turning a stone into cakes of bread makes no sense unless this "cakes of bread" Satan is talking about is matzah, which is the Hebrew word for unleavend bread as matzah is traditionally used in the Jewish holiday "Passover". Historically, this event where Satan tries to tempt Jesus turning a stone into bread did not take place on Passover, it happend right after His baptism, probably halfway through His 40 days.
Luke 4:9 lowercase the "s" in "Son"
Same as verse 4:3 Also in Ephesians 4:13.
Revelation 14:14 add the "a", lowercase the "s" in Son
Blatantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only Son of Man. This CLNT in this verse blatantly makes everyone messiahs (sons of mankind). This is a sin of self-worship. Contradicts the warning of Jesus in Matthew 24:5.
John 5:29 change "the" to "a" and "damnation" to "judging".
2 Peter 2:9 change "punished" to "chastening"
God is a spirit, not a man. Would a loving god spank, even brutally beat up His own children? According to the CLNT, God can. This contradicts the Universalist's own doctrine of Universal Salvation. How can it be God's will to save all mankind if He brutally spanks His own children in this present age? I will give some details about this problem in the next post along with the problem verses of the Greek "aion". Most of all, the CLNT implies God will brutally spank His own children even at the End of the Age.
2 Peter 2:4 change "reserved unto judgement" to "for chastening judging"
Same as 2 Peter 2:9.
Romans 10:17 change
2: Peter 3:7 change "ungodly" to '"irrevent"
Contradicts 1 John 1:8 and 10. The CLNT in this verse like in John 3:36 grants everyone a license to sin. Are you as a universalist implying that God doesn't judge the ungodly except to those that do not believe in Universal salvation are "irrevent"? We will have to test this doctrine if it's sound doctrine later on in some other time God commands to test the spirit if it's "sound doctrine".
Romans 10:17 add "a"
Contradicts John 1:1. There is only one Word of God.
Romans 3:22 change "the" to "a" and "faith in Jesus Christ" to "Jesus Christ's faith"
The CLNT denies that there's only one righteousness of God by the faith of Jesus Christ. There is no other righteousness.
Romans 3:26 change entire verse to "his righteousness for the current era".
This is the problem why these universalists believe that "aion" is temporary, which we will get to that later in the next post. The CLNT in this verse blatantly attacks the righteousness of Jesus Christ by implying that He's a sinner.
Romans 5:2 change "by" to "through", remove "by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."
The CLNT denies that there is salvation by grace through faith. Contradicts John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.
Ephesians 3:13 lowercase "i" in "in", capitalize "w" in "whom", change "by faith of him" to "His faith"
Blatant blasphemy by the CLNT in this verse. Righteousness is only thru faith in Jesus Christ.
Mark 1:2 change "the prophets" to "Isaiah the prophet"
It was written by the prophet Malachi, not Isaiah. See Malachi 3:1
Luke 4:8 change "and him only shalt thou serve." to "and to Him shall you only offer divine service"
The Greek "latreuo" incorrectly translates as "divine service". Satan should only serve God, not offer "divine service". Blatant blasphemy to the autority of God.
John 1:1 lowercase "W" in "Word"
Blatant blasphemy to the deity of The Father and The Son and the identity of the Godhead. Contradicts 1 John 5:7.
John 1:13 add "s" in "blood"
There is only one "blood". There is no plural word for "blood". Blatantly contradicts Revelation 1:5 and 7:14 Only the blood of Jesus can wash away sins. Can there be many "bloods" to wash away sins? The old hymn says, "Who can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus." There can be no other blood to wash away the sins execpt the blood of Jesus. Amen.
John 1:18 change "only begotten Son" to "only-begotten God"
Contradicts John 3:16. Blatant blasphemy of the Son, Jesus Christ.
Okay now that we have compare the changes from the KJV to the CLNT. Part 2 we look into the problem changes from the KJV where the CLNT renders "aion" as "temporary" or known as "eon", "eons", and "eonian" and prove that the Merriam-Webster's dictionary renders "aion" as "indefinte" or known as "endless", "eternal" and "everlasting".
This is a warning to everyone who tries to change God's word:
"For
I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this
book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him
the plagues that are written in this book: And
if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." - Revelation 22:18-19
Now before if I wrap this up, the author of the CLNT is Adolf Ernst Knoch. He was the author and the staunch founder Universal Salvation. As I mentioned in Mark 14:21 in the CLNT, Knoch imples in his book "All in All" that it would better if Jesus Christ was not born. Knoch implies that the Mark 14:21 was not referring to Judas, but Jesus Christ Himself. This source pointing to Knoch's heresy came from Don Hewey who was the greatest defender in the King James Version (See King James Bible Defended by Edward F. Hills on David J. Stewart's website)
Apparentally, Knoch has also contradicted himself in "All in All" with the CLNT, even he admits that Jesus is not equal to the Father which denying that Jesus is God. Adolf Knoch is Antichristian (1 John 2:22).
The proof is universal salvation was not taught in the early church. It was invented by Adolf Knoch and it did not emerge until the Unitarians founded universalism in 1961. There were no historical records about the universal church existing before 1961 nor does a non-existing church like this so called Universal church merging with the Unitarian church. There were no historical records about Origen, a disciple of the Apostle John, being a universalist, but he was the author of unitarianism. It was flourished and adopted the Arians until was banned by the Council of Nicea in 325, Unitarianism re-emerged in 1825 where the Unitarian church was founded.
Some Trinitarians adopted Adolf Knoch's heresy and therefore committed the apostasy and founded a doctrine called "Trinitarian Universalism" which renders Jesus Christ as a non-judging and all-loving god. The bible is clear that Jesus will say of the Day of Judgment "I never knew you. Depart from Me, you worker of Iniquity." Matthew 7:23.
There was independent church in 1861 that was made up by the Anabaptists, Lutherans, Baptists, and universal like congregations but no historical records that universal salvation was taught before 1942, 3 years after the CLNT was published.
So again, there are no historical records about universal salvation being taught before 1942 and there is no existence of a universalist church before 1961 because the denomination in 1861 taught was water baptism, infant baptism, Calvinism, and the Lutheran soul sleep. The American Universalist Church in 1861 did not teach universalism until 1961. To conclude, universalism is a modern apostasy and universal salvation is heresy, dangerous, and it grants everyone a license to sin. So all of you Universalists are trying to do is recrucify God and The Son, Jesus Christ.
When you deny the true salvation of Jesus Christ by forcing an unsound doctrine like universal salvation unto millions of those unrepentant and implying that God will be All in All at the end of the Age, you are re-crucifying our Lord and Savior. God is already the All in All. He is and always be the All in All, as sung in the old hymn. Amen.
Do not throw out the true meaning of His death and resurrection implying "he already pay the penalty for your sins, you are saved. You don't have to do anything to be saved, it's already for your sins." This is not what the true meaning of His Death and Resurrection is. He died to offer you a second chance, not by doing nothing to be saved, but by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31), confessing that Jesus is Lord, repenting of sins (changing of mind) and confess our sins (1 John 1:9)
If you made that commitment, I say Halleluiah and Amen. The next post is that I will be doing Part 2 on the Problems with The Greek "aion"
Until next time, God bless.
